President's Annual Report (1997)

The "President's Annual Report" is a site I designed in the winter of 1997. It is a report which highlights many of the University at Buffalo's accomplishments over the past year. The annual report had been a strictly print publication, but was offered on the web starting in 1997.

For the 1997 edition, I decided to work off of the perfectly functional architecture I had designed for "Fronting the Future," and to concentrate on working on the look of the site itself. I had not been entirely happy with the graphical implementation of the hotbox in "Fronting the Future." I felt that the circle-with-label concept was functional, but not particularly attractive. In the "President's Annual Report," I decided to display a background image (which could run flush to the sides of the frame) instead of the earlier concept.

I was very satisfied with the results.
