Hey Dude was a popular teen television show that originally aired on Nickelodeon from 1989 through 1991. Set on a fictional ranch named the “Bar None,” the entire show was shot on location on the grounds of a real dude ranch outside Tucson, Arizona named the Tanque Verde Guest Ranch.

The Tanque Verde is a popular dude ranch that hosts thousands and thousands of guests every year. Filming of Hey Dude occurred away from the heavily trafficked areas of the real ranch, in a secluded area where the “Bar None Ranch” could be created and a television show filmed without disturbing the activities of the guests at the Tanque Verde.

After the television show wrapped, much of the set was left standing. Situated on private property of the Tanque Verde Guest Ranch in a secluded area, it has withstood nearly two decades of weathering and neglect in recognizable condition.

A small “ghost ranch” awaits any visitor to the Tanque Verde who is willing to take a 20 minute hike into the desert.
